Tunis, June 05, 2023, SPA -- The President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, today received the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi at the Carthage Presidential Palace in Tunis.
During the meeting, they reviewed the existing relations between the GCC and Tunisia and a means to strengthen this relationship.
The Secretary General confirmed that his meeting with the Tunisian President was conducted within the GCC-Tunisian relationship framework as envisioned by the GCC leaders to enhance ties with brotherly and friendly nations, and seek wider avenues of cooperation in matters of mutual interest.
He expressed that with this objective in mind, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked today between the General Secretariat of the GCC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia, outlining cooperation frameworks and areas of collaboration.
Albudaiwi expressed his confidence in the ability of the GCC countries and the Republic of Tunisia to achieve the desired level of relations and cooperation. He expressed his hopes for greater progress and prosperity in the GCC-Tunisian relations by reinforcing the accomplishments made and exploring more collaborative opportunities between both sides.
