Riyadh, May 30, 2023, SPA -- The first flight of the beneficiaries of the "Makkah Road" initiative from the Republic of Turkiye arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via the initiative hall at Istanbul International Airport. Upon arrival, the beneficiaries were received by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fatih Ulusoy, along with several senior Saudi and Turkish officials.
The "Makkah Road" initiative, part of the Ministry of Interior's programs to serve pilgrims and aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, aims to facilitate the arrival and completion of procedures for pilgrims from their respective countries. The process begins with the issuance of electronic visas and the collection of vital information, followed by streamlined passport procedures in the departure country's airport. These steps are fulfilled after verifying the availability of health requirements, in addition to coding and sorting luggage according to transportation and housing arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival, they go directly to buses to take them to their residences in Makkah and Madinah, with designated tracks, while service agencies deliver their luggage to their residences.
